Global Engagement and Internationalization

 The LU Award for Global Engagement and Internationalization honors faculty who have made exemplary contributions to the internationalization of Lehigh University, while advancing the university’s mission of excellent teaching, research and service.

Perry A. Zirkel Award for Distinguished Teaching in Education

Recognizes a current, full-time faculty member in the College of Education. The recipient must:

Perry & Carol Zirkel Nonexempt Staff Award

Established to recognize outstanding performance and contributions by a member of the nonexempt staff. No one is eligible to win this award more than once. Nonexempt staff are those individuals classified as secretarial, clerical, or technical employees (e.g. administrative secretaries, department coordinators). Exempt staff are not eligible (e.g. administrative associates, managers). Only current nonexempt staff members are eligible to receive nominations for this award (retired staff are not eligible).

Louis & Helen Zirkel Library Staff Award

Established to recognize outstanding performance and service by a member of the exempt or nonexempt staff of the University Libraries. Nominations for this award may come from any member of the faculty, exempt staff, nonexempt staff or other patrons of the Lehigh University Libraries. Only current staff members are eligible to receive nominations for this award (retired staff are not eligible). Faculty and staff are not eligible to win any given University Award in two consecutive years, in addition to eligibility restrictions that apply for certain awards.

Lehigh University Exempt Staff Distinguished Service Award

Recognizes a member of the exempt staff who has contributed in significant ways to the Lehigh community over a number of years. Only current exempt staff members are eligible to receive nominations for this award (retired staff are not eligible). Nominations for this award may come from any member of the faculty, exempt staff, or nonexempt staff. Nominations will be screened by the Exempt Staff Award Committee. The final selection will be made by the Senior Officers.

Hillman Nonexempt Staff Award

Recognizes a member of the nonexempt staff for excellence in performance or for advancing the interests of the University; sustained excellence in performance that has major impact on advancing the department/university goals; and exemplary initiative and service. Previous winners of this award have exemplified the highest level of achievement at the University. Nominee must be a current nonexempt staff member to receive nominations for this award (retired staff are not eligible).

Hillman Exempt Staff Award

Recognizes a member of the exempt staff for excellence in administrative and/or research work, or for advancing the interests of the University; sustained excellence in performance that has major impact on advancing the department/university goals; and exemplary initiative and service. Previous winners of this award have exemplified the highest level of achievement at the University. Nominee must be a current exempt staff member to receive nominations for this award (retired staff are not eligible).

Alfred Noble Robinson Exempt & Nonexempt Staff Award

Recognizes outstanding performance in service to the University and unusual promise of professional achievement. Each year one award will be given to the most deserving exempt or nonexempt staff member of those nominated. Previous winners of this award have shown extraordinary enthusiasm for Lehigh’s goals and priorities, often working beyond their direct area/unit on University-wide projects or committees. Nominees must be employed full-time by Lehigh University in administration, research, or any combination of these and in at least the second year of such employment.

Robert & Christine Staub Faculty Excellence Award in Business & Economics

Libsch Research Award

The objectives of this award are to: a) Recognize excellence in research, scholarship and/or artistic achievement, including the overall impact, as well as the quality and quantity of scholarly contributions; b) Reward those who perform distinguished research; c) Place research and scholarship on an equal footing with teaching and university service in the annual awarding of recognition.
